Three ways with blood orange juice

By the Hesper team · · 3 min read

Orange halves next to a jug of fresh juice

Blood oranges are only around from December to April, so we like to make the most of every bottle. These three take five minutes each.

1. Rosemary spritz

Ingredients (2 glasses)

  • 200 ml Hesper Blood orange
  • 200 ml sparkling water, chilled
  • 2 small sprigs of rosemary
  • Ice

Method

  1. Bruise the rosemary between your fingers and drop a sprig into each glass.
  2. Fill with ice, pour in the juice, then top up with sparkling water.
  3. Stir once. Drink straight away while it fizzes.

2. Overnight oats

Mix 50 g oats, 100 ml blood orange juice, 2 spoonfuls of Greek yoghurt and a pinch of cinnamon in a jar. Leave it in the fridge overnight. In the morning, top with honey and a handful of toasted walnuts.

3. Bright salad dressing

Shake 3 spoonfuls of blood orange juice, 4 of olive oil, 1 teaspoon of mustard and a pinch of salt in a jar. It is very good with bitter leaves, fennel and a little feta.
